Alanya is a tourist hotspot in Turkey. Unlike Antalya, Alanya offers a unique charm, reflected in the cheerful faces of its inhabitants every day. Tourists enjoy the sun and the sea, and locals welcome visitors and the money they bring.
However, the locals are feeling the effects of the extreme devaluation of the Turkish lira, so it’s not always easy to smile.
Alanya, along with Bodrum, is considered one of Turkey’s gems, but unlike most Turkish cities, Alanya is very international and enjoys a high degree of freedom. This is also reflected in the faces of its tourists.
Currently, around 400,000 people live in Alanya. During the peak season from the beginning of June to the end of September, however, the population can swell to 1.5 million.
